Dorky Buddhist I'm traveling to Cambodia this summer to learn more about Theravada Buddhism. I want to be ordained as a nun someday. I love the Mahayanas too, but I don't really feel that I fall in that category as much. I love Buddhism as a philosophy, but it's hard to practice as a religion in the rural midwest USA. I am always looking for new information and insight from the Buddha. I feel a little silly as a white girl wanting to be a Buddhist, and I know my friends sometimes call me a hippie, but I want to be respectful and informed. I have so much love and respect for the traditions of Buddhism, and I am constantly drawn to my breath for inspiration. I want to deepen my practice, and I am always looking for advice and people to help me. I look forward to chatting and meeting new people here!
