Buddist Wannabe seeks Compassionate Female So-Buddhist Wannabe? Well, I'm not part of an organized Buddhist school in my area (Philadelphia) and tho I've been learning about Buddhism on my own for more than 20 years, I've yet to establish a regular practice of Zazen every day. I have a sit every couple of days, but I'd like to enhance that.
One key thing (for me) that Buddha stressed was compassion for all living creatures--starting with oneself, then moving outwards. I've felt this naturally since childhood and I long for a female friend--or more, who knows--who understands that true compassion is bone-deep and in no way contradicts a twisted sense of humor or an understanding of what actually moves people. We can watch them, and feel compassion for the truly troubled yet still see the whole from a certain place. Not Better--just different. OK, I've blah blah-ed enough--are you Buddhist and wish to meet a like minded friend? That's me. If this profile doesn't feel quite right, I hope that soon you'll find the man who'll fit you and will snap right in. Be happy.
