I discovered Buddhism in the 4th grade from a book. Coming from a Catholic background and feeling disillusioned, I was drawn to Buddhist philosophy. I kept the idea of cause and effect as a guide to my life. As a young adult, met an SGI USA member but didn't want to be a part of any organization controlled by priests. Many years later, SGI came back in to my life without the priests and I joined the organization. I have Butsudan in my home and chant frequently and occasionally with others.
