Like Sandra Bullock, I’ve made mistakes in the past,
And met some that I thought might really last.
And though I’m a Buddhist in search of Nirvana,
I also enjoy....um (blush)...getting it on-a.
(That was a terrible line, couldn’t resist the rhyme—
Don’t think that I’m an easy good time!)

Of course I like movies, as everyone does,
Even those who say “Filmmmm,” if only because
It has subtitles or doesn’t mainly involve
An anti-hero whose extremities whip and revolve.
I like both, and I read books all the way through,
My major was poetry, but as for what job I do?
I’m a legislative analyst, I’m afraid it’s not very arty—
Don’t date me if you are in the Tea Party.

By day I analyze and research political facts,
And write grants that bring in major greenbacks.
I seek a man who will be by my side,
And knows that mistakes are part of the ride.
I cook French and I’m clever, I’m all about laughter
And a gentleman who knows just what he’s after.
I dance and love music not sung by a choir,
Or staying home with HBO’s “True Blood” and “Boardwalk Empire.”

As for the rest, I’m size eight , don’t do booze, drugs or ciggies,
Have (real) green eyes, (fake) red hair—I promise it’s no wiggy.
And although I have some hidden ink on my body,
It’s not Tweety or Elvis, and none of it’s naughty.
I guess you could say that I’m here ‘cause I’m seeking
Someone who reads all of this and still isn’t freaking.

I like to talk and (yes) walk a sunset cliché,
(And I do have a cat, but no Bichon Frise.)
Daily life is a good home filled with some gratitude,
Positive mental state is my sought-after attitude.
I talk about things, don’t bear (m)any grudges,
Except the Natural Gas Industry and their toxic sludges.
