Don't laugh... I first became interested in Buddhism through Confuciunism in the series "Kung Fu," regarding Taoism and non-material spirituality.
Although my grandparents and family were Catholic missionary doctors in China and India in the early 1900's, I was strongly drawn to Eastern and philosophies prior to studying western, and I engaged both worlds via the study of teachings of Buddha, Lao-Tzu, and other fundamental shapers of Eastern belief-systems.
