IMPERMANENCE While I would stop short of saying I am a Buddhist, the Four Noble Truths are without doubt the truest words I have ever read. So, I am an aspiring Buddhist, but still feel that I have much work to do before I can make that claim. While I don't smoke, or do drugs, I do indulge in the occassional beer or glass of wine, and Buddhist's are not suppose to allow any intoxicants to pass their lips. In almost every other aspect though, I am closer to being a Buddhist than anything else. So, here I am on a Buddhist dating site (I never would have believed there was such a thing until I googled it!), looking for somebody to help fill that hole that we all seem to have. I had a partner once; 21 years of marriage, but it ended. Some of the blame for that falls on my shoulders. However, time heals all wounds and it is time to move on. My heart is still full of good stuff, and I would like to have somebody special in my life to share that with. And keeping in mind the word above my profile, I am all too aware that life is short and ever-changing. We need to enjoy what is given to us now, and not take anything or anybody for granted. I have reached that stage in life where I can honestly say I appreciate things more now than I ever have before. I struggle with the same demons most of do: attachment, longing, desires ... all these things are hard to control. But just because the First Noble Truth is about suffering, that doesn't mean that we have to suffer, or that we are meant to only suffer. There is also great beauty in the world, one of them being the connection that can develop between a man and a woman. Having that is precious. I neglected to care for it when I had it, and by the time I noticed it was in jeopardy, it was too late to get it back again. At least, it was with that particular woman. I believe there is another woman out there that I am meant to be with; I dream of that person frequently. Maybe you feel the same? Maybe I am the one you dream of? Let's find out
